Khao Samsip Reservoir is located in Village No. 10 of Khao Samsip Subdistrict, within Mueang Sa Kaeo District. Surrounded by forested foothills and protected natural areas, the reservoir lies under the care of the Pa Chakkarat Foothill Development Project (Ban Khao Samsip), a Royal Initiative dedicated to ecological restoration, forest conservation, and sustainable community development. The project headquarters are situated directly beside the reservoir, right at the foot of the mountain.

 

Visitors traveling from Mueang Sa Kaeo can reach the reservoir via Highway 317. At Kilometer 137–138, turn left and continue about 10 kilometers, then pass Khao Samsip Temple for another 2 kilometers. The route leads into quiet countryside embraced by forested landscapes, offering a soothing change from city life. The final approach to the reservoir is lined with small villages, open fields, and gentle mountain scenery.

 

The reservoir area is peaceful and scenic, with a calm water surface reflecting the surrounding mountain ridges. The viewpoint along the dam ridge offers panoramic views of the forest and sky, making it a relaxing spot for sunrise and sunset watching. Getting to Khao Samsip Reservoir From Mueang Sa Kaeo, take Highway 317 toward Wang Nam Yen and turn left at Kilometer 137–138. Continue along the rural road for about 10 km until passing Khao Samsip Temple. The reservoir is just 2 km beyond the temple. The route is suitable for private cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles. Travelers without private vehicles can take a bus to Sa Kaeo City and then hire local transport to reach the reservoir.
