Ban Dong Ho Chi Minh Museum, located in Pa Maka Subdistrict, Mueang Phichit District, Phichit Province, Thailand, is a significant cultural and community-based conservation site that highlights both history and learning. The museum was established through a collaboration between Phichit Province, the Pa Maka Subdistrict Administrative Organization, the National Museum Institute for Learning, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It serves as a place for learning and preserving the history of the Ban Dong community as well as the enduring friendship between Thai and Vietnamese people from the past to the present.

The Ban Dong Ho Chi Minh Museum offers a comprehensive historical experience. Visitors can explore a living museum that reflects the lifestyle, beliefs, and culture of the Ban Dong community while learning about President Ho Chi Minh, a world-renowned figure who once lived in Thailand. The exhibitions not only provide knowledge about Vietnam’s history and Thai-Vietnamese relations but also inspire visitors to discover more about the city of Phichit.

The museum covers an area of over 6,400 square meters and is housed in a two-story building that was originally a cemetery for Thai-Vietnamese residents. Inside, the exhibitions are divided into multiple zones that comprehensively present historical and cultural narratives. These include the Ban Dong in the Past zone, the Thai-Vietnamese Relations zone, the Ban Dong Geography of Phichit Province zone, the Ho Chi Minh, the Liberator of Vietnam zone, as well as zones covering movements in Siam, the Ban Dong Community, Secret Missions in Ban Dong, Heroes, and Struggles for Liberation, illustrating the community’s efforts for freedom and justice.

In addition, the museum features a replica of President Ho Chi Minh’s house, built as a raised wooden structure in traditional Vietnamese style. Inside the house, visitors can see a statue of Ho Chi Minh, an altar, and his personal belongings, including wooden cabinets, old oil lamps, and various artifacts. This replica allows visitors to experience the authentic atmosphere and gain a deeper understanding of the life of a historical figure who had a significant impact on Vietnam’s history.

Visiting the Ban Dong Ho Chi Minh Museum not only provides knowledge about culture and history but also promotes community-based tourism and supports the preservation of valuable cultural heritage. It is suitable for students, general tourists, and anyone interested in the life of a global historical figure. Visiting the museum also inspires younger generations to maintain cultural heritage and continue the legacy of historical narratives.

The Ban Dong Ho Chi Minh Museum is an essential destination for cultural tourism in Phichit. Learning about President Ho Chi Minh’s life and the Ban Dong community gives visitors knowledge, experiences, and inspiration while highlighting the long-standing friendship between Thailand and Vietnam.
