Freshwater Beach and Ostrich Farm is a large privately owned tourist attraction in Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. Many visitors know it as an “inland sea” because it features a vast body of water and sandy banks designed like a beach, creating an atmosphere similar to a real seaside destination. With its wide water surface, long beachline, and all-day activities, it has become a popular choice for families, groups of friends, as well as students and organizations looking for outdoor activities—without the need to drive long distances to Thailand’s coastal provinces.

The overall area covers approximately 1,000 rai, which is considered very large compared with similar attractions in Kanchanaburi. What makes this place stand out is its well-planned zoning that supports multiple styles of recreation in one destination, ranging from swimming and sandy beach areas to water rides, rest pavilions and food stalls, and an ostrich farm located nearby within a short travel distance. This makes it ideal for visitors who want an “all-in-one” trip combining fun, relaxation, and a learning-friendly environment for children.

In terms of travel experience, this freshwater beach feels distinctly different from typical water parks. The space is open and airy, and the surroundings feel closer to nature. Many visitors bring mats, sit under shaded beach pavilions, and let children play with sand, swim, or enjoy lighter activities. For those who want more excitement, there are various water rides available. As a result, a single day can satisfy both relaxation seekers and activity lovers without needing to move between multiple locations.

A key selling point is the “sandy beach,” which gives visitors the feeling of being at the sea. You can stroll along the shoreline, take photos with the wide water backdrop, and easily choose a relaxing spot. The best times for photography are early morning or late afternoon, when the light is soft and natural. Thanks to the spacious layout, it rarely feels cramped; even on weekends, you can often find a more private corner if you plan your timing well.

For water activities, the venue provides a variety of equipment and rides such as pedal boats, water scooters, banana boats, sliders, life jackets, and beach volleyball. These options create an energetic atmosphere that suits groups of friends and families who want shared activities without a strict schedule. This is one reason the freshwater beach works well for group trips—everyone can choose what they enjoy while staying in the same area.

Another convenience is the beachside service area with many food stalls and dining spaces. Visitors can easily recharge during the day without leaving the venue, which is especially helpful for families with seniors or young children. It allows for a comfortable, unhurried visit with regular rest breaks, and it also suits those who simply want to sit and enjoy the long view over the water.

About 300 meters from the freshwater beach, there is also an ostrich farm that visitors can explore. This is another highlight that adds a learning dimension to the trip, especially for children who can see large animals up close in a farm environment. Having an animal farm within the same attraction makes this place different from many water-play spots, because it offers not only fun but also a suitable setting for educational outings.

From the perspective of the site’s “history and development,” Freshwater Beach and the Ostrich Farm was developed on privately owned land. The core approach was to create a large, safe recreational area with comprehensive facilities, designed to serve both general visitors and organized groups such as tour groups, parties, and scout camp programs. This aligns with how the place is commonly viewed—as a complete outdoor-activity destination that includes water-play zones, activity spaces, and on-site accommodation services.

What many visitors appreciate is the ability to “relax with a rhythm.” You can start the day with swimming or water rides, take a midday break with a beachside meal, walk and take photos along the sand, then shift to the ostrich farm to change the mood. Before leaving, you can still shop or rest as needed. The trip does not feel rushed or overly tiring, especially for travelers who want to explore Kanchanaburi without driving to many separate spots.

If you enjoy photography, a recommended approach is to capture wide-angle shots of the water and sandy shoreline to clearly convey the “freshwater beach atmosphere.” For more storytelling images, include pedal boats or water activities in the frame to add motion and liveliness. Family-content creators may focus on children playing with sand and water, or groups enjoying beach volleyball, which naturally communicates a real day-off vibe.

For preparation, it is recommended to bring swimwear, a towel, extra clothes, and footwear suitable for walking on sand, along with sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses. Because the area is quite open, it can feel hot during strong sunlight. The advantage is that there are many shaded pavilions for breaks, so you can plan a comfortable rhythm of “play, then rest” throughout the day.

For visitors who want to stay overnight, there is a beachfront resort within the venue for those who want more time on-site, as well as for groups running camp-style programs such as scout camps or other organized activities. This is another reason the venue is often chosen for group events: the space is large, can accommodate many people, and the setting suits outdoor programs—whether for teamwork activities, discipline training, or learning through group living.

If you plan a day trip, the best time is from morning to afternoon, as you will have enough time for swimming, activities, and a visit to the ostrich farm without rushing. If you prefer fewer crowds, weekdays or early morning visits are recommended, because visitor numbers naturally increase on weekends for a family-friendly destination like this.

Getting There From Bangkok, take Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road) through Nakhon Pathom Province, then use the connecting route toward Kanchanaburi and continue on Highway 323. After approximately 7 kilometers, you will reach an intersection where you should turn right toward Mueang Kanchanaburi. When you reach the Tha Muang intersection, turn left and cross the Mae Klong River bridge for about 3 kilometers. Next, cross the irrigation canal junction, turn left, and drive along the canal for around 6 kilometers. You will then see signs for the freshwater beach and ostrich farm. Turn left to cross the canal for about 1 kilometer, then turn into the lane following the signposts and continue for roughly 2 kilometers to reach the destination.

Overall, Freshwater Beach and the Ostrich Farm offers a wide range of experiences within one location. It is suitable for visitors who want a straightforward day out: swimming, water activities, beachside meals, and an easy shift to an animal-farm visit in the same trip. For travelers looking for a family-friendly destination or a venue for group activities, it is one of the more complete and convenient options in the area.
