Hat Sai Thong sits in Map Ta Phut Subdistrict, Mueang Rayong District, Rayong Province. It continues westward into Suchada Beach, stretching for about 5 kilometers, with a seaside road known as “Hat Sai Thong Road” that has become a favorite viewpoint and photo spot for visitors. The beach is notably quiet, ideal for those who want to relax, stroll, and enjoy the sea view without the crowds.

 

The shoreline forms a gentle arc along the Gulf of Thailand, shaded by rows of casuarina trees. Looking out you’ll notice large rock revetments built to protect the coast from wave erosion. In the past this area suffered significant erosion, prompting the placement of rock structures to safeguard the shore and maintain the beach profile. Today the stone lines along the coast are a distinctive feature that sets Hat Sai Thong apart from other Rayong beaches.

 

Although it isn’t as popular for swimming as Mae Ramphueng Beach or Laem Mae Phim, Hat Sai Thong charms with its calm, simple atmosphere. It suits early-morning or late-afternoon walks. Evenings draw locals and travelers to watch the sunset; some bring food for a picnic along the shore. With the whisper of waves under the pines, this time of day is when many people love the beach most.

 

Getting There Hat Sai Thong is an easy 12-kilometer drive from Rayong city. Take Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) toward Ban Chang, then turn onto Takhwan–Hat Sai Thong Road (km markers 207–208). Continue straight for about 5 kilometers to reach the beachfront. Signage is clear. You can come by private car or by local songthaew from Rayong city.

 

A highlight here is how clean and orderly the beach is. Parking is available at several points along the shore. You’ll also find local seafood eateries and small cafes, where you can enjoy fresh seafood with sea views in a laid-back, Rayong-style setting.

 

For overnight stays, the area around the beach offers various options, from beachfront resorts to homestays in Map Ta Phut. Most are quiet and moderately priced, making them suitable for a short, restful break.

 

Attractions lie close by, too: Suchada Beach borders the west side; Mae Ramphueng Beach is about 20 kilometers away; and the Rayong Botanical Garden near Ban Phe is roughly 25 kilometers away. You can also continue to the Ban Phe Pier to catch a boat to Ko Samet in about half an hour.

 

Today, Hat Sai Thong continues to be improved under the Map Ta Phut Municipality, which has been enhancing the landscape and organizing public spaces to keep them clean and safe. It’s a good match for locals and travelers seeking Rayong’s seaside in a calmer, simpler, less crowded mood.
