Rayong Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center is located in Mae Nam Khu Subdistrict, Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province. The center plays a key role in conducting research, development, and dissemination of knowledge in freshwater fisheries. It aims to support the livelihoods of local farmers and serves as a hub for providing academic services and transferring sustainable aquaculture technologies.

 

The center is responsible for the surrounding area of Dokkrai Reservoir, an important water source in Pluak Daeng District and a model area for integrated agricultural development in eastern Thailand. Within this area, several agricultural agencies collaborate under the Pluak Daeng Development Project initiated by the royal initiative, including Rayong Irrigation Project, Rayong Land Development Station, Rayong Field Crops Research Center, Rayong Agricultural Occupation Promotion and Development Center (Horticulture), Pluak Daeng Research and Technology Transfer Center, and Rayong Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center. Each unit contributes by providing guidance, transferring agricultural knowledge, and welcoming study visits.

 

In addition to its research mission, the center serves as a learning destination for the public. Visitors can observe freshwater fish breeding programs, see rare freshwater species, and watch demonstrations on pond and cage fish farming. The center also organizes educational activities about water and environmental conservation, raising awareness of sustainable natural resource use.

 

The surrounding area of the center is adjacent to Dokkrai Reservoir, offering a peaceful and scenic environment ideal for recreation. Visitors can walk around the reservoir, enjoy the view, or use the area for educational and agricultural field trips. The site is well-equipped with convenient transportation access and facilities.

 

Getting There From Rayong city, take Highway No. 3191 toward Pluak Daeng District, approximately 35 kilometers away. The Rayong Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center is located in Moo 6, Mae Nam Khu Subdistrict, near Dokkrai Reservoir. It is easily accessible by private car or by public transport from Rayong city to Pluak Daeng, then continue by local songthaew or motorcycle taxi to the center.
