Wat Nam O Puea, Chiang Klang, Nan. The temple grounds cover an area of 15 rai. To the north, it borders the Huae Hwaen Stream, approximately 55 wa. To the south, it borders Ban Nam O School, also about 55 wa. To the east, it again borders the Huae Hwaen Stream, approximately 110 wa.
Wat Nam O was established in 1920 (B.E. 2463) by Mr. Wang Kamphon, who was the village headman at the time. Later, he became known as Saen Wang Kamphon, the father of Saen Wang Kamphon or "Phu Yai" (village headman) Wang Kamphon. He encouraged local craftsmen from Ban Nam O to join together in building the temple, which was then named Wat Nam O.
A monk named Phra Rong assisted in the construction of the temple. Later, leadership passed to Mr. Saen Rin Kamyan. Years later, an unexpected event occurred when the government constructed the Nan–Thung Chang Road, which cut directly through the temple courtyard. As a result, the abbot and the villagers held discussions and decided to relocate and rebuild the temple at a new site, which is the current Wat Nam O.
At that time, Phra Khru Praphakornphitak (Singthana), who was the district ecclesiastical head of Thung Chang District, oversaw the monastic community in both Thung Chang and Chiang Klang Districts.
