Wat Na Nun Puea, Chiang Klang, Nan. The temple was established in 1897 (B.E. 2440) by Mr. Fu Singthana, who donated the land for its construction. It was originally located in the middle of rice fields along the Nam Long stream, a low-lying area that would flood regularly during the rainy season. The area was very limited in space and could not be expanded.
In 1955 (B.E. 2498), the devoted community of Wat Na Nhoon claimed a new piece of land at the current location of the temple, situated on a rocky hill. They joined efforts to clear the forest and level the ground using hoes, a task that took nearly a year to complete. Once the land was leveled, Phra Boontan Thitavano (Phra Khru Satit Wannakorn), the abbot, together with the local devotees, dismantled the old structures such as the monks’ quarters and rebuilt them at the new site. Later, the ordination hall (vihara) was constructed, and the temple was officially granted the “Wisungkhamsima” (the official monastic boundary) on September 2, 1958 (B.E. 2501), followed by the gradual construction of other monastic buildings.
Today, Wat Na Nhoon is located at 18, Village No. 2, Pue Subdistrict, Chiang Klang District, Nan Province. It is affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect of Thai Buddhism. The land on which the temple is located covers 9 rai, 51 ngan, and 73 square wah.
The temple’s territory to the north measures approximately 3 sen, 51 wa, and 2 sok and borders private land. To the south, it also measures 3 sen, 51 wa, and 2 sok and is adjacent to the Ban Na Nhoon village road. To the east, it spans approximately 6 sen, 102 wa, and 2 sok, bordering private land, and to the west, about 61 sen, 102 wa, and 2 sok, adjoining the Nan–Thung Chang road. The temple also owns two plots of monastic land totaling 16 rai, 2 ngan, and 186 square wah, registered under land title deeds Nor Sor 3 Kor No. 2048 and Nor Sor 3 Nos. 2049–6375.
