Khit Khin Ancient City (Senarat Nakhon / Prantapa City) in Saraburi Province is an ancient Khmer-era settlement that once served as an important administrative and cultural center in the Pa Sak River basin. Today, only earthen embankments and a central mound known as “Khok Prasat” remain, offering a glimpse into its historical significance.

 

The site is characterized by surrounding earth walls and a raised central mound, reflecting the layout of an ancient city where the central area likely held political or religious importance.

 

Archaeological discoveries at the riverside area revealed a Naga-protected Buddha image, believed to have been found at what was once a royal landing point used by rulers or elites.

 

The city is also associated with the Thai epic Ramakien. According to legend, after defeating Panasura, Rama granted land to Hanuman and Sugriva. Hanuman ruled Lopburi, while Sugriva governed Senarat Nakhon, believed to be Khit Khin City.

 

Although no large structures remain, the site holds significant archaeological and cultural value, especially for those interested in ancient civilizations, Thai literature, and historical landscapes.
