Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai (Luang Pho To Temple) is one of the most important royal temples in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. It serves as a spiritual center for local residents and is widely known for its historical significance and cultural traditions.

The temple is famous for enshrining Luang Pho To, a highly revered Buddha image from the Sukhothai period in the Mara-Vijaya posture. Devotees visit the temple to pray for prosperity, success, and good fortune.

Originally known as Wat Phlap Phla Chai Chana Songkhram, the temple is believed to be connected to King Naresuan the Great, who performed sacred rituals in this area before achieving victory in battle during the Ayutthaya period.

Later, with the installation of the large Buddha image, the temple became widely known as Wat Luang Pho To. To distinguish it from the nearby Wat Bang Phli Yai Klang, it was officially named Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai.

The temple plays a vital role in preserving local culture, especially the Lotus Throwing Festival, held annually on the 14th waxing day of the 11th lunar month. During the festival, a replica of Luang Pho To is paraded by boat, and devotees throw lotus flowers as a symbol of faith.

Nearby, visitors can explore the traditional Bang Phli Floating Market, where they can experience local food, Thai desserts, and authentic riverside life.

Getting There From Bang Na intersection, take Bang Na–Trat Road toward Chonburi. At kilometer 12, make a U-turn and turn left onto Bang Phli–King Kaew Road. Continue for about 3.5 km, turn left for another 1 km, then enter Sukhaphiban 6 Road for about 200 meters to reach the temple.
