Phaya Yi Ba fled from Hariphunchai and sought refuge with his son Phaya Boek in Wiang Tan. Phaya Boek then gathered troops and organized defenses against the invading forces of King Mangrai. His bravery and dedication to protecting his people caused local residents to deeply respect him, and over time he became known as Chao Pho Khun Tan.
