Wat Thung Ngam Luang is an old community temple located at Ban Thung Ngam, Moo 3, Thung Ngam Subdistrict, Soem Ngam District, Lampang Province. The temple has had a continuous line of abbots who cared for the temple and guided the community. The recorded abbots include Luang Por Chai, also known locally as Tu Pu Chai; Kruba Wong; Phra Athikan Wan Konwaen; Phra Athikan Surin Khueankaew; Phra Athikan Sriyamueang; Phra Athikan Noi Kanchai; Phra Athikan Khamnoi Konwaen; Phra Athikan Suk Khueankaew; Phra Athikan Mun Yapieng; Phra Khru Rattana Langka; and the current abbot, Phra Khru Phibun Phatthanuyut.

 

This succession of abbots shows the continuity of Buddhist leadership in the village. Each generation of monks helped maintain the temple, guide local devotees, preserve religious practice, and support the social life of the community.
