Jo Knifemaker Workshop Modern Knife Craftsmen’s Home 55, Moo 1, Bang Sadet Sub-district, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province. Discover the art of knife craftsmanship in Ang Thong Province at the "Jo Knifemaker Workshop." This is the home of Mr. Jo Banjong Hemthong, one of the pioneering modern knife craftsmen in the area. His creations masterfully blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, resulting in knives that are both visually stunning and highly functional.

Inspired by his fascination with knives, Mr. Jo learned his craft from master knife-makers in Chiang Mai and Ayutthaya. He further enhanced his skills with studies in metallurgy and modern technology, striving to elevate his work’s quality to the highest level. Mr. Jo identifies two main groups of knife-makers: traditional craftsmen who preserve ancient wisdom and modern artisans who utilize contemporary technology. As a representative of the latter, Mr. Jo aims to set a new standard in the Thai knife-making industry.

At Jo Knifemaker, each knife is meticulously crafted with a focus on quality and functionality. Popular designs include traditional Thai knives such as the Mee Neb and Mee Chian Mak, which are especially sought after as unique gifts. Mr. Jo’s mission is to educate customers about the knife-making process, empowering them to choose knives that best meet their needs while promoting innovation in Thailand’s knife industry.

For those interested in learning the craft, Jo Knifemaker offers a 3-day workshop that covers every step of the knife-making process. Participants will leave with two knives: one expertly crafted by Mr. Jo and another handmade by themselves. The course includes accommodation and three meals daily, ensuring a comprehensive and enjoyable experience.

Located in Bang Sadet, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province—a region famous for traditional handicrafts such as Chao Wang Dolls—Jo Knifemaker connects the art of knife-making with the cultural heritage of the area. Each knife features the iconic "Topknot Child" symbol, a signature of Bang Sadet, blending local identity with fine craftsmanship.

Visitors to the workshop will experience the charm of local life in Ang Thong and leave with unforgettable souvenirs. More than just a knife-making facility, Jo Knifemaker Workshop is a hub of passion, creativity, and commitment to preserving and evolving Thai knife artistry for a global audience.
