The Ceramic Industry BPK In Ang Thong Province, there is a place rich in history that has never faded from the hearts of the locals: the BPK Ceramic Industry, or the historic brick factory, which has been in operation for over 77 years. This brick factory is not only one of the oldest brick producers in Thailand but also an integral part of the country's brick and tile industry development.
Founded in 1944 by a Chinese immigrant grandfather, the factory, known as Hengmui Li, was one of the first to produce high-quality decorative bricks and tiles in the country. The factory used the unique soil from Ang Thong, which is fine, smooth, and rich in red-orange color due to the minerals embedded within the earth. This clay is strong and durable, making it an ideal material for brick production.
The name "BPK" comes from the location of the factory in Ban Plakod Subdistrict, and the acronym "BPK" was stamped on each brick to indicate its origin. The BPK Ceramic Industry produces high-quality bricks and tiles, particularly decorative bricks with smooth surfaces that have become popular in architectural design. These bricks are not only aesthetically pleasing but are also used to improve ventilation and reduce interior temperatures, making them a preferred choice among architects.
Although more than seven decades have passed, the BPK Ceramic Industry has been passed down through the second and third generations, who have continued to develop the quality and standards of production. The factory still maintains the durability, strength, and beauty of its products, making them trusted by customers and designers in the architecture industry.
Today, the BPK Brick Factory invites those interested to learn about the brick and tile production process through guided tours and workshops, especially for students and organizations. Visitors can observe the production process from start to finish, but prior contact is required to arrange a visit.
Visiting this facility allows visitors to appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship and dedication involved in producing bricks and tiles. The BPK Ceramic Industry is proud to maintain its high production standards.
How to Get There The BPK Ceramic Industry is located at 80/G, Moo 1, Ban Plakod Subdistrict, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province. If you have the chance to visit Ang Thong, be sure to stop by this historic brick factory, where you can explore the rich history of the town and discover its unique charm from a different perspective.
