Three Kingdoms Park Chonburi – A Cultural Legacy of Chinese Literature in Thailand. “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” is one of the most influential Chinese literary classics, familiar to Thai people for generations. It tells stories of politics, wars, friendship, and profound moral lessons. Three Kingdoms Park in Chonburi was built as both a monument of filial piety and a cultural learning center dedicated to this epic tale. More than just a park or museum, it offers an immersive experience that connects visitors with history and ancient philosophy through art and architecture.

The park was founded by Khun Kiarti Srifuengfung, a Thai-Chinese businessman inspired by the Three Kingdoms. He created this site to honor his parents and to provide a place for people to study Chinese culture in Thailand. Covering over 36 rai (about 14 acres) in Pong Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, the park was designed according to feng shui principles, blending Thai and Chinese architectural styles in harmony.

Upon entering the grounds, visitors are greeted by an impressive exhibition hall decorated with vast mural paintings depicting more than one thousand episodes of the Three Kingdoms. This collection is considered one of the largest of its kind in the world. The park also features a marble pagoda, a shrine for worship, and beautifully landscaped Chinese-style gardens complete with ponds and stone bridges. Statues of legendary characters such as Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, Liu Bei, and Zhang Fei stand proudly as enduring symbols of the story.

The value of the park lies not only in its architecture but also in the cultural and educational insights it offers. It conveys political strategies, life philosophies, and moral lessons drawn from the Three Kingdoms, reflecting the deep cultural connections between Thailand and China. Walking through the grounds gives visitors both knowledge and serenity, with plenty of scenic corners for photography. At times, traditional Chinese costumes are available for rent, allowing guests to capture memories in an authentic setting.

Three Kingdoms Park is located about twelve kilometers from Pattaya and can be reached easily from Bangkok via the Bangkok–Chonburi Motorway or Sukhumvit Road, followed by local routes. Normally, the park is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though visitors are advised to check the latest updates since it has occasionally been closed for renovations. Admission fees are 80 THB for Thai adults and 40 THB for Thai children, while foreign visitors pay 150 THB for adults and 80 THB for children. Facilities include parking spaces, restrooms, and souvenir shops.

Nearby attractions enrich the journey, including Khao Chi Chan with its massive Buddha image carved into the cliff, Wat Yansangwararam, the scenic Silverlake Vineyard, and Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, one of the world’s renowned botanical gardens. Visiting Three Kingdoms Park can therefore be part of a full cultural and leisure itinerary in Chonburi.

Though the park’s operating status may occasionally change, its cultural and historical significance remains unique. For literature lovers, history enthusiasts, and those drawn to Chinese art, this is a destination that offers knowledge, inspiration, and lasting impressions.
