Krating Waterfall, located in Chanthaburi Province, is one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in eastern Thailand. It originates from the majestic Khao Khitchakut mountain range, which is also home to the sacred pilgrimage site of Khao Khitchakut National Park. This impressive waterfall boasts 13 distinct tiers, each offering its own unique beauty and atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers. The journey to the top is as enchanting as the destination itself, with each tier spaced approximately 20 meters apart, creating a scenic and rewarding hiking experience.
As visitors make their way along the trail, they will be surrounded by lush bamboo groves and a diverse variety of native plant species. Some areas are blanketed by vibrant green moss and delicate ferns that thrive in the cool, misty environment near the cascading water. The stream that flows alongside the trail is crystal clear and refreshing, reflecting the pristine ecosystem of the area. During the dry season, when the trees shed their leaves, golden and reddish-brown leaves carpet the walking paths, creating a picturesque and romantic scene that feels like stepping into a fairytale.
The lower tiers of the waterfall are especially popular for swimming, with calm, clear pools that are safe and family-friendly. The first level of Krating Waterfall is conveniently located just 100 meters from the national park’s main office, making it easily accessible for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing dip or a challenging hike to the upper levels, this destination offers experiences for everyone.
