Queen Sirikit Forest Garden is one of the important natural attractions in Ratchaburi Province. It is located at the foothills of the Tenasserim mountain range in Tanaosri Subdistrict, Suan Phueng District, along the Suan Phueng–Ban Huai Muang road. The site is approximately 25 kilometers from the Suan Phueng District Office. Covering an area of around 3,000 rai, the garden has been developed into a large forest park that gathers a wide variety of plant species and serves as an important natural learning center in the western region of Thailand.

 

This forest garden was established to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on the auspicious occasion of her 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary. The objective of the project is to create a conservation area that collects valuable economic tree species of Thailand while also functioning as a natural study center and a protected forest resource for the western region.

 

The landscape of Queen Sirikit Forest Garden lies along the foothills of the Tenasserim Range, a major mountain range that stretches along the Thai–Myanmar border. The terrain consists of rolling hills combined with mixed deciduous forest and dry evergreen forest, making the area rich in biodiversity and home to numerous native plant species.

 

Beyond its importance as a conservation area, the forest garden also plays a role as an educational site for natural resources. Many valuable economic trees have been planted and preserved here, including teak, padauk, redwood, and Yang Na trees, along with other native plants that are essential to the ecosystem of the Tenasserim forest region.

 

One distinctive feature of Queen Sirikit Forest Garden is the presence of the Phachi River flowing through the area. This river is one of the important natural waterways of Ratchaburi Province and has long supported the surrounding forest ecosystem.

 

As the Phachi River flows across large natural rock formations, it creates a scenic rocky rapid known as “Kaeng Som Maew.” This natural feature is one of the highlights of the forest garden. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque view of the flowing river and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding forest landscape.

 

The area around Kaeng Som Maew remains relatively pristine and rich in natural vegetation. It is an excellent location for nature walks, observing plant species and small wildlife, and relaxing in a tranquil environment away from the bustle of urban life.

Getting There From Suan Phueng town center, travel along the Suan Phueng–Ban Huai Muang road toward Tanaosri Subdistrict for approximately 25 kilometers. Queen Sirikit Forest Garden is located at the foothills of the Tenasserim Range and can be conveniently reached by private vehicle.
