Wat Mangkon Buppharam, also widely known as Leng Hua Yi Temple, is located on Sukhumvit Road along the Chanthaburi-Khlung route, approximately 16 kilometers from Chanthaburi city. This temple is a prominent Mahayana Buddhist temple established in 1977 and is open to visitors and practitioners interested in meditation and Buddhist practice.

The temple features stunning architecture, particularly its ordination hall and pavilions, which are adorned with colorful mosaic tiles forming intricate and delicate patterns. The art and design combine elements of Chinese and Thai architectural styles, creating a harmonious and visually captivating environment. Beyond its architectural beauty, the temple offers a peaceful and shady atmosphere, surrounded by greenery and large trees, making it an ideal place for relaxation, meditation, and spiritual practice.

Leng Hua Yi Temple also provides accommodation for practitioners, allowing visitors to stay on-site for meditation retreats and extended periods of practice. This convenience ensures that those traveling from afar can focus fully on their spiritual development without worrying about transportation or lodging.

The temple hosts two major annual events. The first is the Kathin merit-making ceremony, held after the end of the Buddhist Lent. This important ritual allows devotees to offer the Kathin robe and participate in merit-making alongside monks, fostering community bonds and spiritual growth. The second is the temple’s annual merit-making festival, which takes place 21 days after the Chinese New Year. During this event, visitors come to make merit, observe precepts, and stay at the temple for 7–10 days. The festival creates an atmosphere filled with devotion and community participation, reflecting the temple’s strong cultural and religious significance.

Beyond being a religious center, Wat Mangkon Buppharam serves as a cultural attraction where both Thai and international visitors can learn about Mahayana Buddhism, Chinese-influenced local traditions, and the lifestyle of the surrounding community. Visiting the temple provides an opportunity to appreciate the fusion of Thai and Chinese art, immerse in spiritual practice, and experience cultural traditions firsthand.

Conveniently located on Sukhumvit Road near Chanthaburi city, the temple is easily accessible by private vehicle or public transportation. A visit offers not only a chance to admire its beautiful architecture but also to cultivate inner peace in a serene and welcoming environment. Participation in the temple’s annual merit-making events allows visitors to engage in cultural and religious traditions preserved over decades, making Wat Mangkon Buppharam a significant destination for spiritual, cultural, and artistic experiences.
