Pra Maha Jedi Pakdee Prakard Attractions Prachuap Thong Chai, Bang Saphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakass is located on the top of Khao Thongchai, in the Bang Saphan district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The chedi was constructed as a tribute to His Majesty King Rama IX on the occasion of his 50th year of reign in 1996. This magnificent chedi was designed with beautiful architecture and holds profound symbolic meaning.
The Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakass measures 50 meters in width, 50 meters in length, and 50 meters in height, with a total of five levels, representing the "Five Aggregates" (Khandha). Surrounding the main chedi are eight smaller chedis, representing the eight decades of His Majesty's reign.
The structure of the chedi is designed in traditional Thai architecture, with beautifully decorated doors and windows. Inside the ordination hall (ubosot) stands a Sukhothai-style Buddha image in the "Leela" posture, which serves as the principal Buddha image. The walls of this hall are adorned with beautiful Thai mural paintings, reflecting the grandeur of traditional Thai art.
One of the highlights of Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdee Prakass is the stunning panoramic view of Ban Krut Beach, which can be seen clearly from this location.
