Poi Waterfall is located in Moo 1, Kaeng Sopha Subdistrict, Wang Thong District, Phitsanulok Province. It is one of the largest and most distinctive waterfalls in the area, spanning nearly 200 meters wide and approximately 10 meters high. The water flows over a series of small rapids and rocky outcrops, creating a complex and beautiful natural landscape.
During the rainy season, the water of Poi Waterfall turns brown and flows rapidly, making it unsafe for swimming. Visitors can, however, enjoy the spectacular view of the water cascading over rocks and rapids. In contrast, during the winter and summer months, the current slows down and the water becomes relatively clear and green, allowing tourists to swim and relax along the stream or on small islands at the lower part of the waterfall.
The waterfall is accessible from Highway 12 between kilometers 59 and 60, with a 2-kilometer detour leading directly to Poi Waterfall. It is situated within the Krayang Forest Park, managed by the Forest Industry Organization. The surrounding area is shaded and serene, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.
Poi Waterfall is not only a natural attraction but also an educational site where visitors can learn about the local ecosystem and the importance of forest conservation. Tourists can observe aquatic life and diverse plant species along the streams and rocky areas, enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, photography, or simply sitting by the cool flowing water.
Visitors are often captivated by the waterfall’s seasonal transformations—the powerful, muddy flows in the rainy season, the calm, clear waters in the summer, and the refreshing coolness in winter. Its convenient location and lush surroundings make Poi Waterfall an excellent destination for those seeking to escape city life, breathe fresh air, and relax amidst the beauty of nature.
Overall, Poi Waterfall offers a full experience of natural scenery, adventure, and leisure, making every visit a memorable and worthwhile experience in Phitsanulok Province.
