Sai Rung Waterfall, located in Sukhothai Province, lies to the west of Khao Luang. This famous and picturesque waterfall originates from the headwaters around Khao Chedi, flowing down the Khlong Phai Na stream toward the southwest. The water cascades over high rock cliffs, creating a stunning natural scene. When sunlight hits the flowing water, it produces a beautiful rainbow, making Sai Rung Waterfall a spectacular spot for photography and nature observation.
Visitors can view the rainbow phenomenon from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Within the waterfall area is the Ramkhamhaeng National Park (Khao Luang) Ranger Station, located just 50 meters from the park. The waterfall has four levels, all of which are suitable for swimming. Reaching each level requires a walk along the flowing stream from the ranger station, with distances of 800 meters, 900 meters, 1,160 meters, and 1,200 meters respectively.
Sai Rung Waterfall is not only a natural attraction but also a place to experience the rich forest ecosystem that surrounds it. The area is home to various wildlife, including birds, insects, and small animals, offering visitors an immersive encounter with nature. This waterfall is also an excellent example of the importance of water and forest conservation. A visit here provides a complete experience of hiking, swimming, and witnessing a rare natural rainbow phenomenon, making it a must-see destination for travelers of all ages in Sukhothai Province.
