Wat Samet Nuea was originally called Wat Thung Samet and was built in 1876. At first, the land was only about 3 rai. Later, in 1902, the beautiful and elegant Chinese donated 87 rai of land to the temple and has continued to help develop and support the temple. The temple received the second royal charter on November 4, 1966, and the charter area is 40 meters wide and 80 meters long.

 

Important buildings include the first chapel, which was granted permission to have a charter area. It will have an area of ​​5 wa 2 sok wide and 8 wa 2 sok long. His Majesty was pleased to grant permission, starting from 23 September, Rattanakosin Era 125, 1906. At present, there has been a renovation and restoration, including the ancient boundary stones that were excavated around this old chapel. There are sacred objects in the temple, including the Phra Siwali statue and the ancient Takhian Goddess boat.
