Wat Hua Dong is located in Moo 7, Hua Dong Subdistrict, Phichit Province. It is one of the important temples in the southern area of Phichit town and can be reached via the Phichit–Taphan Hin route, approximately 10 kilometers away. The temple was established in 1870 (B.E. 2413) and held its first boundary stone ceremony in 1925 (B.E. 2468). Covering an area of around 40 rai, the temple is surrounded by a serene atmosphere with large trees providing cool shade for visitors.

A remarkable and distinctive event at Wat Hua Dong occurred on February 17, 1995 (B.E. 2538), when a small statue of Luang Pho Ngern, measuring 5 inches across the lap, made of bronze or sacred alloy, appeared in a 20-year-old Indian rosewood tree. This extraordinary occurrence sparked excitement and devotion among the local people and followers of Luang Pho Ngern, who is a highly respected monk known for his spiritual powers and revered in both Phichit Province and neighboring areas.
