Wat Chantharam It is a temple that has been in the country for a long time. There is a Sri Mongkhon Buddha image. Who are very respected and famous. Wat Chantharam, commonly known by the locals in Wang Khaem Subdistrict as “Wat Wang Khaem,” is located at No. 1, Ban Wang Khaem, Moo 1, Wang Khaem Subdistrict, Khlong Khlung District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. This community temple belongs to the Mahanikaya sect and covers an area of approximately 17 rai and 83 square wah. The temple has a long history and holds significant religious, cultural, and community importance.
 
Wat Chantharam was officially registered as a temple around 1782 B.E. (c. 1239 CE). Although it was abandoned for a long period, it was later restored and renovated, becoming a stable center for the local community. The temple has undergone continuous development since 1877 B.E. and remains so to this day, with the construction of buildings and facilities to support religious activities and community functions. It also serves as a center for learning and promoting Thai culture in the local area.
 
On April 2, 1980 B.E., Wat Chantharam was granted the Wisungkhamasima, officially recognizing its status as a royal temple of importance. The temple has had a series of abbots throughout its history, including Luang Pho Suk, Phra Upachaya Um, Phra Samuh Thim, Phra Samuh La-ong, Phra Samuh Suk, Phra Ajarn Sanguan, Phra Palat Phayon Chotithino, Phra Kru Sophon Phatcharayan (Thaveep Yanwaro), and currently Phra Palat Thim Khemcharo, who has been instrumental in the temple’s development and maintenance of its sacredness.
 
Wat Chantharam houses several important religious and cultural artifacts, including the old Ubosot (ordination hall), Luang Pho Srimongkol, Luang Pho Thep Akson, the Buddhist School, and the Thai Cultural Promotion Center “Community Ties of Wang Khaem Subdistrict.” These facilities not only support religious practice but also provide opportunities for the community to learn and preserve traditional Thai customs.
 
Visiting Wat Chantharam offers more than just paying respects to sacred objects; it is also an opportunity to explore local history, temple architecture, and community life. The temple is a clear example of preserving Thai culture while fostering community development, allowing visitors to experience both spiritual tranquility and the warmth of local society.
