Wat Nong Bon is located in Nikom Phatthana Subdistrict, Nikom Phatthana District, Rayong Province. It serves as a spiritual and community center for the local people. Visitors often come to make merit, pay respects to the Buddha images, and release fish into the temple pond amid a calm and green atmosphere that still reflects the everyday rhythm of local life.

The temple is registered at No. 966, Moo 4, Ban Nong Bon, near the Bangna–Trat Road where it passes through Rayong. It covers an area of about 21 rai 3 ngan 75 square wah and is surrounded by local communities and schools. The temple’s structures reflect the gradual growth of the area: a reinforced-concrete Thai-style ordination hall (7 m × 22 m, built 1981), a Thai-style sermon hall (16 m × 36 m, built 1989), and 12 monk quarters completed around 1991. Additional facilities include two funeral pavilions, a kitchen, and a crematorium. Wat Nong Bon received its official consecration boundary on 8 November 1993, covering 28 × 42 meters.

The principal sacred objects include the main Buddha image in the ordination hall flanked by Moggallāna and Sāriputta, a Phra Phuttha Chinnarat-style image in the sermon hall, a replica of Phra Phuttha Sothon, several metal Buddha images (29- and 39-inch lap), a walking Buddha, images in the gesture of Blessing, a Phra Sangkachai, and a replica of the Buddha’s footprint—all regarded as focal points of faith among devotees.

Today the temple remains active, hosting community events, merit-making festivals, and public activities organized by the local administration. It has been listed as a community attraction where people can make merit, release fish, and relax in a peaceful environment.

Getting There From Rayong City, follow Highway 36 toward Nikom Phatthana, then turn onto local roads to Ban Nong Bon (signs and small lanes guide the final stretch). From Bangkok, use Bangna–Trat Road connecting to Highway 344/331 or Motorway No. 7–36. A private car is most convenient, though some minivans and songthaews run periodically. There is ample parking inside the temple grounds.

Wat Nong Bon represents the genuine character of a modern Thai community temple — simple, peaceful, and deeply rooted in local life. It offers a quiet stop for those seeking to make merit or to observe a living temple in the Eastern region of Thailand.
