Si Mueang Park, commonly known by locals as “Koh Klang,” is a large public park located in the heart of Rayong City, just behind the Provincial Hall. Covering approximately 70 rai, this park was once used as an execution ground before being transformed into a public space and health park for the people of Rayong to relax, exercise, and gather.

 

At the park’s entrance stands the Buddha Angkiras Hall, a beautifully designed Thai-style pavilion with a four-gabled roof. Inside is the sacred Buddha Angkiras image, the principal Buddha statue of Rayong and a symbol of faith deeply revered by the locals. The hall serves as both a religious landmark and a symbol of protection for the city, attracting worshippers and visitors throughout the year.

 

The park offers lush greenery, large trees, grassy lawns, jogging and walking paths, as well as exercise areas. It provides a peaceful atmosphere that invites visitors to rest, walk, or spend quality time with friends and family. In the early morning and late afternoon, the park becomes lively with people jogging, stretching, or practicing yoga beneath the shade of old trees.

 

Beyond being a leisure area, Si Mueang Park also serves as the main venue for major city events such as the New Year Festival, Father’s Day celebration, Red Cross Fair, and religious ceremonies. During festivals, the park is illuminated with decorative lights, creating a warm and festive ambiance that brings the local community together.

Visitors can drive via Sukhumvit Road where parking is available around the park, or take local songthaew minibuses that pass the Rayong Provincial Hall. Its proximity to markets and local eateries makes it a convenient stop for both recreation and dining.
