Khao Khat Pass and Hat Hin Klom Khao Khat Channel on Sichang Island in Chonburi Province is one of the destinations that nature lovers and those looking for beautiful photo spots should not miss. This spot was created by the force of waves eroding the cliffs until the mountain was split apart, which is why locals call it “Lang Koh” or “behind the island.” Its unique and unusual landscape has made it one of the highlights of Sichang Island and a place often visited by travelers who come for a one-day trip.

Although today the famous “Hin Klom Beach,” once known for its rounded stones shaped by waves, has very few stones left due to changing natural conditions, the charm of clear seawater, soft sand, and a peaceful atmosphere remains. Visitors can stroll along the shore, breathe in the fresh air, or simply relax while enjoying the cool sea breeze throughout the day.

What makes Khao Khat Channel stand out among other attractions on Sichang Island is the panoramic view of the sea framed by rocky cliffs. When the waves crash against the rocks, the sound echoes all around, creating an atmosphere both powerful and enchanting. Sunset here is especially captivating as the sky turns orange and red over the water, making it one of the most romantic moments. Many travelers choose this spot as a check-in point, sharing photos on social media thanks to the raw yet beautiful scenery.

Getting to Khao Khat Channel is simple. From Bangkok, you can take a bus from the Ekkamai Bus Terminal to Si Racha, then get off at Robinson Department Store. From there, a motorcycle taxi or tuk-tuk can take you to the pier where ferries depart for Sichang Island. Once on the island, renting a motorbike is an easy way to explore, including reaching the channel itself, which is not far from other island attractions, making it perfect for a one-day sightseeing trip.

For the ferry service, boats leave from Koh Loi Pier in Si Racha to Sichang Island every hour from about 07:00 to 18:00. Return ferries from the island back to Koh Loi start at around 06:30 and continue hourly until about 18:00. The trip takes roughly 45 minutes, and the fare is about 60 baht per person. This makes traveling to the island convenient for both day trippers and those planning to stay overnight for a deeper experience.

Beyond Khao Khat Channel, the island offers many other points of interest. Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine is a spiritual landmark for locals, Phra Chuthathut Palace is a seaside royal residence with beautiful architecture, and Tham Phang Beach is another peaceful spot to unwind. Combining these places makes Sichang Island a popular choice for travelers seeking a quick getaway near Bangkok that offers both natural charm and cultural depth.

The best time to visit is during the cool and early summer seasons, from November to May, when the skies are clear and the sea is calm, perfect for enjoying sunsets at Khao Khat Channel. In the rainy season, however, strong waves and weather conditions may affect ferry schedules.

For a more complete experience, visitors can enjoy fresh local seafood at restaurants along the coast, with popular dishes including grilled prawns, steamed blue crab, and spicy tom yum soup. Small coffee shops hidden near viewpoints are also great for relaxing while taking in the view. For a truly local taste, try homemade meals at small eateries near the pier.

Other activities popular with visitors include renting bicycles to ride around the island and explore local communities, fishing, snorkeling to see coral reefs, and short boat trips circling the island for a different perspective of the Chonburi coastline.

Even though nature has changed over time, the beauty of Khao Khat Channel and Hin Klom Beach continues to impress those who visit. Travelers often say that Sichang Island is more than just another beach destination; it is a small island full of charm, perfect for quiet relaxation, scenic walks, or short weekend trips. It is no wonder that Khao Khat Channel remains one of the top places to visit on Sichang Island and a destination worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime.
