Ban Sukhawadee, located in Chonburi Province, is a famous seaside mansion in Pattaya built by Dr. Panya Chotithewan, the owner of Saha Farm, one of Thailand’s largest agricultural exporters. The idea of creating Ban Sukhawadee began in the year 2000, during a period when Thailand was facing a severe economic crisis. Many local businesses collapsed, and numerous Thai companies were taken over by foreign investors. Dr. Panya envisioned Ban Sukhawadee as a symbol of unity and resilience, representing the strength and potential of Thai people, showing that they possess capability and dignity equal to any nation in the world.

Ban Sukhawadee sits along Sukhumvit Road at kilometer 129, covering an area of over 80 rai (about 32 acres) with a private beach stretching more than 400 meters. Its architecture immediately stands out with luxurious contemporary designs, highlighted by the distinctive pink and blue color scheme. Both the interior and exterior are decorated with intricate details, rich in symbolism, seamlessly blending art, culture, and spiritual beliefs into a single magnificent creation.

Among its most remarkable structures is the Guan Yin Pavilion (อาคารพระแม่กวนอิม), which serves as the main residence of the Chotithewan family. Inside, there is a grand banquet hall and a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate up to 500 guests for meetings or seminars. The centerpiece is a statue of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, gracefully seated on a dragon and adorned with priceless gemstones, reflecting deep spiritual faith and the desire to create a sacred and auspicious space.

Another impressive structure is the Dome of the Buddha (อาคารโดมพระ), which houses numerous Buddha images and sacred relics. The highlight of this building is a 9.28-meter-tall statue of the Buddha in the Birth posture, attracting visitors and devotees who come to pay their respects and seek blessings, making it a spiritual heart of Ban Sukhawadee.

The Phutthabarami Building (อาคารพุทธบารมี) is another significant highlight, serving as a venue for large-scale events and conferences. Its interior features elaborate murals crafted by Thailand’s Fine Arts Department, while the floor is covered with the largest single-piece carpet in the Asia-Pacific region, a rare sight to behold. This building includes several meeting rooms used by Saha Farm and its affiliated companies and has hosted many national-level events and welcomed distinguished guests. It also houses beautifully enshrined Buddhist relics, further emphasizing its spiritual and cultural importance.

After exploring the magnificent architecture and sacred spaces, visitors can shop for Saha Farm products at special prices. These include processed meats, ready-to-eat meals, and a variety of souvenirs, blending the sightseeing experience with an opportunity to take home high-quality local goods.

Ban Sukhawadee is open to visitors daily from 08:30 AM to 06:00 PM. Admission fees are as follows: Thai adults 180 THB, foreign adults 500 THB, Thai students with valid ID 100 THB, seniors aged 60 and above 100 THB, and monks free of charge. The address is 219 Moo 2, Sukhumvit Road, Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi 20150. It is conveniently located along Sukhumvit Road on the seaside, near Cholchan Hotel and the Bang Lamung District Office, and can be easily reached by private car or public transportation.
