Wat Sing Thong Phrommawat is a significant Buddhist temple located in Ban Bueng Kradon, set on a spacious area of 20 rai and 11 square wah. It serves as the spiritual heart of the local community and nearby villages. Originally, the temple was known as Wat Bueng Kradon, a name inspired by its natural surroundings. The area where the temple stands was once lowland with ponds and abundant kradon trees, a type of perennial tree with round-shaped leaves. These trees were so prominent that villagers named the temple after them.

The temple was officially founded on October 20, 1969 (B.E. 2512) through the faith and collective effort of local villagers. At that time, traveling to distant temples for merit-making and religious ceremonies was inconvenient. This inspired the community to establish their own temple closer to home. The land for the temple was generously donated by Mr. Siang Singthothong and Mrs. Tadsanee Banthomsin, who provided over 20 rai for the construction of the sacred site. Their contribution symbolizes unity and devotion to Buddhism, creating a lasting legacy for future generations.

Wat Sing Thong Phrommawat received its royal consecrated boundary (Visungkhamsima) on March 26, 1970 (B.E. 2513), which officially marked its status as a recognized Buddhist temple. Today, the temple is led by Phra Khru Sirithammakit, the abbot who oversees religious activities, temple management, and the preservation of Buddhist teachings within the community.

Within the temple grounds, there are several important structures, including the ordination hall (ubosot), where key Buddhist ceremonies take place, a sermon hall (sala kan parian) for religious activities, a funeral and merit-making pavilion, and monks’ residences (kuti). Each building reflects the simplicity and elegance of traditional Thai architecture, with intricate designs that highlight local craftsmanship and Buddhist symbolism. The temple also houses a school for Buddhist studies (pariyatti dhamma school), providing education for monks, novices, and laypeople, ensuring the continued study and practice of Buddhist teachings.

The temple is known for its peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal place for meditation, contemplation, and spiritual retreat. With its shady trees, tranquil surroundings, and cool breezes, Wat Sing Thong Phrommawat offers a sense of calmness that helps visitors escape the busyness of everyday life. It is a place where people can connect with their inner selves, practice mindfulness, and find comfort in Buddhist teachings.

Throughout the year, the temple hosts various traditional Buddhist ceremonies and local festivals, such as Kathina, Visakha Bucha, and other merit-making events. These celebrations bring the community together, reflecting the strong bond between local traditions and Buddhist practices. Visitors who attend these events can experience the warmth and hospitality of the local people and gain deeper insights into Thai cultural heritage.

For those interested in architecture and cultural heritage, Wat Sing Thong Phrommawat is also worth exploring. The ordination hall and other structures are decorated with artistic details and symbolic designs that tell stories of faith and devotion. Observing these elements provides a glimpse into the skill and wisdom of local artisans, passed down through generations.

Today, Wat Sing Thong Phrommawat stands as more than just a religious site. It is a center of learning, culture, and spirituality, offering a peaceful sanctuary for worshippers and visitors alike. Whether coming to make merit, study Buddhism, or simply find inner peace, this temple remains a cherished landmark and an enduring symbol of faith for the community.
