Chomtien Beach in Chonburi Province is one of the most popular beaches in Eastern Thailand. Located just 4 kilometers south of Pattaya City, it is easily accessible and convenient for travelers. The beach stretches for over 6 kilometers with a tree-lined road running along its length, making it perfect for leisurely walks, fresh sea breezes, and one of the most stunning sunsets in the region. Unlike the busy Central Pattaya Beach, Chomtien offers a calmer and more peaceful atmosphere, ideal for visitors who want privacy while still enjoying modern amenities.

Visiting Chomtien Beach offers diverse experiences. Travelers looking for relaxation can rest under the shade of trees, listen to the soothing waves, and enjoy the gentle sea breeze. Those seeking adventure can enjoy water activities such as jet skiing, banana boating, parasailing, windsurfing, and kayaking. Families with children will find safe shallow waters where kids can play freely. Along the beach, there are sunbeds, umbrellas, and traditional Thai massage services to make holidays even more comfortable.

Jet skiing is one of the most popular activities at Chomtien Beach, with rental prices ranging between 1,500 and 1,800 baht per hour depending on the provider and package. Tour options with transfers or guides are available at slightly higher prices. These water sports provide excitement and thrills, making Chomtien a favorite destination for adventure enthusiasts.

Food is another highlight of Chomtien Beach. Several well-known seafood restaurants are located along the shore and nearby areas. Poo Pen Seafood is one of the most famous, serving steamed blue crabs, tamarind prawns, and fish curry custard, with prices from 160 to 560 baht. Rim Talay Seafood offers an all-you-can-eat buffet at 459 baht per person including unlimited drinks. Lung Sawai Seafood, at the far end of the beach, is popular for its fresh catches, with dishes ranging from a few hundred baht to over a thousand. S Rinuan Seafood serves specialties like stir-fried squid with salted egg, fried prawns with soy sauce, and sashimi-style clams, priced from 100 to about 600 baht. These dining spots bring variety and unforgettable flavors to the Chomtien Beach experience.

Traveling from Bangkok to Chomtien Beach is easy and convenient. There are four main routes by car: Bang Na–Trat Road (Highway 34) leading directly to Chonburi, Bangkok–Minburi via Highway 304 through Chachoengsao and Bang Pakong, Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) through Samut Prakan before merging with Highway 34, and the Bangkok–Chonburi–Pattaya Motorway, the fastest and most convenient, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours. For those without private cars, buses and vans from Ekkamai and Mo Chit bus terminals head to Pattaya, where travelers can continue to Chomtien Beach by songthaew or taxi.

In the evenings, Chomtien Beach becomes lively. Seafood restaurants along the beach fire up their grills, filling the air with tempting aromas as diners enjoy meals by the sea while watching a romantic sunset. International restaurants, cozy cafés, and small bars are also available for those who prefer a relaxed night out. For a more vibrant nightlife scene, Central Pattaya is only a short ride away.

Facilities at Chomtien Beach include parking areas, public restrooms, tourist service points, and lifeguards, making it suitable for both day trips and extended vacations. For photography lovers, the best times to visit are early morning and late afternoon, especially during sunset when the sky glows orange and pink across the sea.
