Bang Berd Cave is a natural cave located within Khao Bang Berd in Bang Saphan Noi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Inside the cave are beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, along with shimmering reflections from minerals on the cave walls, making the interior feel as if it is surrounded by countless diamonds. The cave has not been fully developed as a formal tourist attraction, so it is best suited to travelers who enjoy nature exploration and adventure.

Bang Berd Cave is a natural attraction situated within Khao Bang Berd, Bang Berd Subdistrict, Bang Saphan Noi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. This area is a limestone mountain formed from marine sediment deposits millions of years ago. Over time, rainwater and groundwater gradually eroded the limestone layers, creating cavities and cave systems inside the mountain. As a result, it became a natural cave of remarkable beauty, filled with numerous stalactites and stalagmites.

Although Bang Berd Beach is already well known among travelers for its long stretch of shoreline, the mountain near the beach also hides another fascinating place: Bang Berd Cave. It is considered an adventure-oriented natural attraction that has not been commercially developed, allowing the cave to retain much of its original natural richness.

The entrance to Bang Berd Cave is rather narrow and requires caution when entering, but once past the opening, the cave expands into a large chamber with a high ceiling and many stalactites and stalagmites. These formations were created by water dripping from the cave ceiling and depositing minerals over thousands of years, resulting in unusual and beautiful shapes.

When a flashlight is shone onto the cave walls or the stalactites and stalagmites, the minerals within the rock reflect a sparkling light, making the cave appear as though it is surrounded by countless diamonds. This dazzling effect is one of the features that makes Bang Berd Cave especially appealing to nature explorers.

Inside the cave, humidity remains high and water constantly drips from the ceiling. This water seeps through the limestone above before dripping into the cave, creating several small pools. Although the cave lies close to the sea and some parts are below sea level, the pools inside contain clear freshwater, formed naturally from rainwater filtering through the rock layers.

Local villagers also tell intriguing stories about Bang Berd Cave. Some believe that tunnels inside the cave connect to the sea, and that at certain times large aquatic animals may enter and live within it. These stories have become local legends that add charm and mystery to the site.

Khao Bang Berd contains several caves. According to local residents, there are around 3 caves in the mountain, but only 1 can be explored without too much difficulty. The other 2 contain water inside, making exploration more challenging and requiring specialized equipment.

At present, Bang Berd Cave has not been officially managed or developed as a tourist site. Visitors who wish to explore it are advised to contact a local guide familiar with the route for safety, as there are multiple cave paths within the mountain and it may be dangerous without an experienced guide.

Getting There To reach Bang Berd Cave, travelers can begin from Bangkok and take Phetkasem Road south toward Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. From there, continue to Bang Saphan Noi District and then enter Bang Berd Subdistrict. The starting point of the hiking trail up the mountain is near Bang Berd Beach, a well-known beach in the area. Visitors will need to walk up the mountain trail in order to reach the cave.
