Wang Kan Lueang Waterfall Arboretum is located in Moo 4, Tha Din Dam Subdistrict, Chai Badan District, Lopburi Province. It is one of the most outstanding natural attractions in Central Thailand, with its most distinctive feature being a waterfall that flows all year round. This makes it different from many other waterfalls in the same region, which usually depend mainly on the rainy season.

 

The source of this waterfall comes from a large underground spring located to the east of the waterfall, about 1.5 kilometers away. This underground water source is part of a natural system under pressure from rock layers, allowing water to emerge continuously. As a result, Wang Kan Lueang Waterfall has clear, clean water and a steady flow throughout the year without drying up.

 

The water here is exceptionally clear and has a greenish-blue hue, which comes from minerals in the rock layers and the reflection of sunlight through the water and aquatic plants. Its remarkable clarity allows visitors to clearly see the rocks beneath the surface, making it one of the most memorable highlights of the site.

 

The surrounding area has been designated as an “arboretum,” playing an important role in preserving plant species and the natural ecosystem. This has helped the overall environment remain lush and peaceful, with shade from large trees and an atmosphere that is ideal for genuine relaxation.

 

Once visitors enter the waterfall area, they can immediately feel the cooler temperature compared to the surroundings, hear the steady sound of flowing water, and sense the moisture of the forest, all of which create a distinctly calming atmosphere.

 

Wang Kan Lueang Waterfall is not a very large waterfall, but its water flows gently over low rock tiers before forming natural pools where visitors can safely swim in several spots. The shallow pools in particular make it suitable for families and general visitors.

 

The area can be divided into several main zones, including the waterfall zone, swimming pool zone, riverside relaxation zone, and natural walking paths. These areas are connected in a natural way, without excessive development that would diminish the site’s original character.

The best time to visit is from the late rainy season to the early cool season, when the landscape remains lush and green and the water is especially clear. However, because the waterfall flows year-round, it can be visited in any season.

 

Getting There From Lopburi town, take the Lopburi–Khok Samrong route on Highway 1, then continue on the Khok Samrong–Chai Badan route along Highway 205. At the junction with Highway 21, continue onto Highway 2089 toward Tha Luang District for about 12 kilometers, then turn left and continue for about 7 kilometers to the waterfall entrance. The waterfall will be on the right-hand side.

 

Today, Wang Kan Lueang Waterfall Arboretum remains an important tourist attraction in Lopburi Province, both as a travel destination and as a protected natural resource area. It also serves as a recreational space for local residents and visitors from nearby areas.
