Wat Tham Si Mongkhon (Wat Tham Piang Din) Pha Tang, Sang Khom, Nong Khai. On the way, there are many locations to be noticed such as Wat Aranyabanphot, Wat Hin Mhak Peng, Tarnthong Waterfall. When you see Tarnthong Waterfall, there is a junction on the left to Wat Tham Piang Din.
 
Some people also called this temple "Payanak Cave". It came from the belief that this temple is where the Payanak passed and fell in love with a prince. However, when the end of the Buddhist lent came, the Payanak had to return to Muang Badan.
 
Lastly, the prince found out that his lover is a Payanak therefore he decided to stop the relationship. Moreover, it is also believed that this cave is a route to the Payanak city under the Mekong River. It is also believed to be the path that the monks from Laos use to cross the border to Thailand and only sacred monks can see this path.
 
Wat Tham Si Mongkhon has an important place that was used as the name of the temple which is Din Piang Cave. Inside the cave, it is humid with water flowing pass all year. There is a big rock in the middle and many other rocks inside the cave. If the tourists wish to travel inside this cave, they will need a guide since it is very complicated and dangerous.
