It was completed in 1980 and was declared a non-hunting area in Bung Khong Long. In 1982, Bung Khong Long was registered as the 1098th largest wetland in the world (Wetland of International Importance) in 2001.

 

With an area of ​​over 22 square kilometers, 13 kilometers long, 2 kilometers wide, it is a habitat for aquatic animals. and international aquatic plants such as more than 100 rare species of waterfowl. There is a type of fish that is hard to find, namely the dwarf goby.
