Sunset Viewpoint (Tham Pha Hong Cave) is one of the most remarkable scenic viewpoints in Phetchabun Province, located along Highway No. 12 (Lomsak–Chum Phae route) at kilometer 39. The site is situated approximately 10 kilometers from the headquarters of Nam Nao National Park and is widely recognized for its panoramic sunset views and unique natural rock formations.

 

The landscape of Tham Pha Hong Cave is characterized by complex geological formations, consisting of layered rock structures that have developed over long periods of natural erosion. The rocks are irregular, rugged, and stacked in a way that resembles natural sculptures, giving the area a distinctive visual identity. One of the most defining features of this location is its wide panoramic visibility. Getting There is relatively straightforward by private vehicle. Travelers should follow Highway No. 12 (Lomsak–Chum Phae route) and look for the entrance at kilometer 39. From the main road, a short access route of approximately 500 meters leads to the parking area. Visitors then proceed on foot to reach the cave and continue to the viewpoint.

 

It is strongly recommended to plan the visit during the late afternoon, allowing enough time to walk to the summit before sunset. Visitors should also consider the return journey, as descending after sunset may require additional lighting due to reduced visibility.

 

The surrounding environment of the viewpoint remains largely natural, with minimal commercial development. This allows visitors to experience a more authentic and undisturbed setting. The absence of heavy infrastructure contributes to the overall sense of tranquility and connection with nature.
