Saranin Waterfall is a natural attraction in Moo 7, Ban Wang Sai Thong Nuea, Subperb Subdistrict, Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province. It lies within the Wang Pong–Chon Daen Non-Hunting Area, an important forest zone in Phetchabun. The waterfall is part of a headwater landscape connected to the Wang Pong, Thap Khlo, and Taphan Hin rivers before the water system eventually links to the Chao Phraya River basin.

 

The waterfall originates from the Khao Yai mountain range and sits at an elevation of about 549 meters above sea level. In the past, the surrounding mountain and foothill forests were rich with moist evergreen forest, tropical forest, and mixed deciduous forest. This natural setting made the area a year-round water source and an important ecological zone for the local landscape.

 

One distinctive local feature near the upper part of Saranin Waterfall is the area known by villagers as “Noen Chet Sip” or “Bunker.” This local name adds cultural depth to the waterfall, showing how the community has long recognized and connected with the surrounding forest and mountain terrain.

 

Saranin Waterfall is suitable for travelers who enjoy quiet natural attractions, forest scenery, and conservation-based travel. Visitors can experience the atmosphere of a headwater forest, listen to flowing water, and enjoy the calm environment of Wang Pong District. Since the area is part of a wildlife-related protected zone, travelers should avoid littering, disturbing wildlife, or making loud noise.

 

Getting There is easiest by private vehicle. Travel to Subperb Subdistrict in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province, then continue to Moo 7, Ban Wang Sai Thong Nuea. The route from Rural Road 4011 to the waterfall is about 3 km and is a concrete road. Visitors should still check weather conditions before traveling, especially during rainy periods.

 

Saranin Waterfall works well as a half-day or full-day nature trip and can be combined with other natural attractions in Wang Pong and Chon Daen. It is a worthwhile destination for travelers who want to see a quieter side of Phetchabun, away from the more crowded mountain viewpoints and resort areas.
