Wat Thong Laplae (Wat Lap Lae) Originally named "Wat Lap Laeng", the word "Lang" is a local language. means evening This temple is an old temple. although there is no evidence that the temple was built since But there is important evidence indicating that in 1877 there was a major restoration of the temple by Teacher Insom, a craftsman from Ban Tha Sala, gathered the villagers of Ban Thong Laplae to renovate the temple. In this restoration a new church was built. and later changed the name of the temple to "Wat Thong Lap Lae".

At this temple, a phenomenon of "upside down" occurred within the temple's church. In the middle of 2011, Rassamee Sueanoi, the village headman's assistant, was seen. Fai Luang Laplae House tell me that Phra Somchai, who came to be ordained at the temple in mid-2011, was the first to see the head-up image as he slept inside the church with all the doors and windows closed. But the window of the church that was not completely closed had a small opening. let the light shine through Therefore, an upside-down reflection of the sermon hall opposite the window panes to the church wall. A miracle happened by chance.

Then something strange happened. When Mr. Phumin Dentist from Chiang Mai Province had told the abbot of Wat Thong Lap Lae that he had dreamed of seeing "Chao Fa Ham Kuman", the first king of Laplae City. Let's say that someone has seen the miracle upside down inside the church. At first, he did not believe and did not know whether this king existed or not. But when I searched for the information, I found it to be true. So it was surprising to me. until having to travel to this temple to meet and inform the abbot.

And with respect So Mo Phumin built a glass pagoda opposite the window of the church. to see a beautiful upside-down reflection The inside of the church was originally just an open wall. It has written murals about the legend and way of life of the Laplae people. By leaving a blank white background on the wall where the reflection hits. And in the future, there will be a wall around the church as Dr Phumin dreamed of seeing as well.

However, such wonder If explained by science is the refraction of light. with a single principle back pinhole camera when light shines through a small hole In a dark room, light will be refracted. a head-up image from the light reflected onto the scene Images produced in this manner are dark and unclear. and it is the same phenomenon found at Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. and Wat Phra That Chom Ping, etc.

For those who want to see the upside-down view of Wat Thong Laplae During this period, the temple is not officially open to visitors. If you want to see, you should ask permission from the abbot first. There is also a prohibition according to local belief in burying the child vision. Women with menstrual cycles are forbidden to enter the church. Visitors should therefore respect the beliefs of the community as well.
