Wat Phra Fang Sawangkhaburi or full name Wat Phra Fang Sawangkhaburi Muninath Located at Ban Fang, Village No. 3, Pha Chuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Uttaradit Province, is an old temple built since the Sukhothai period. According to the temple registration, around 1700 B.E. (before the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great).
 
Wat Phra Fang is considered a group of ancient monuments of Fang Sawangkhaburi (Sawankhaburi, distorted from Sawankburi), the only one that still exists. This temple was granted Wisung Kham Seema in the Sukhothai period. and is the Phra Mahathat Temple of Sawangkhaburi The city has prospered since the Sukhothai period. And used to be a temple that remembers the Buddhist Lent of "Chao Phra Fang" in Sawangkhaburi. who was a clergyman but clad in red and did not feel secular He organized a group of people in the Ayutthaya era for the second time in order to recover independence.
 
Wat Phra Fang has an important historical site, Wat Maha Ut. (There is a single entrance door) on the west side of the archaeological site, the Ubosot has a unique Ayutthaya period architecture. In the past, inside the Ubosot used to be a place where Phra Fang Buddha images were enshrined. At present, the ubosot still has beautiful wooden doors and pediments carved in the Ayutthaya period. In the middle of the group of ancient monuments is Phra Mahathat Chedi.
 
It is the place where the Buddha's relics are contained. The original chedi was greatly destroyed, so it was renovated in the reign of King Rama IV, and on the east side of the archaeological group there is a royal viharn. Originally, it was enshrined of the Chiang Saen Buddha image. At present, there is a carved wooden door in the Phra Viharn Luang of Wat Phra Fang. (It's a replica of the door Completed in 2008 to be installed to replace the original door that has been kept at Wat Thammathipataya since 1951).
 
Wat Phra Fang is currently registered as a historical site. According to the announcement in the Government Gazette, Volume 52, dated March 8, 1935, the area has been declared an ancient monument of approximately 32 rai 3 ngan 90 square wa.
