Wat Khao Noi Hua Khao Subdistrict, Singhanakhon District, Songkhla Province, 1200-year-old Phra Utthesik Chedi, Srivijaya Buddhist chedi, the oldest Buddhist chedi in Singhanakhon District Located on the top of the hill, is a chedi, not doped with mortar. The brick arrangement is unsystematic. which is the style of the Sriwichai period Around the 13th-18th Buddhist century, the base of the pagoda is a wide-angled square shape, approximately 20 meters long.
Only the base is left with a pointed arch-shaped booth. Inside there is a stucco Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara. Local craftsmanship in the Ayutthaya period is at the 4 corners of the base. From the excavation and restoration of the Office of the Fine Arts 13 Songkhla in 1986, it appears that many evidences have been found, such as stone carvings in patterns. and a person's face, etc.
These carvings have an art form. Influenced by Gupta art (Buddhist century 9-11) of India, indicating that this stupa might have been built during the Dvaravati and Srivijaya periods. During the 13th-14th Buddhist centuries, these fragments of carvings were used to decorate the pagoda once in the later extensions around the 18th-20th Buddhist centuries.
Which is the early Ayutthaya period up to the Rattanakosin era There has been an additional construction of this pagoda as evidence appears to suggest that This chedi at Wat Khao Noi has been renovated over many eras for hundreds of years, and now only the base is left to testify to its former prosperity.
