Phuket Rajabhat University
Phuket Rajabhat University Formerly known as "Phuket Teachers College", it arose from the Ministry of Education's project to establish a teacher college. 3 additional regions in the region for the production of teachers and educational personnel in accordance with the policies and goals of the 3rd National Economic and Social Development Plan (1972-1976) in respect of educational development. Phuket Teachers College is one of the teachers colleges of this project.
Phuket Teachers College was established on June 9, 1971, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. And the Ministry of Education announced the establishment of the Phuket Teachers College on June 14, 1971 with Mr. Chalong Piromrat as director.
The academic year 1975 was upgraded to a teacher's college accordingly. The Teacher College Act, B.E. 2518, with Mr. Chalong Piromrat as the first rector.
February 14, 1992, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has graciously bestowed the name of the new teacher college as “Rajabhat Institute”, Phuket Teachers College has changed its name to "Phuket Rajabhat Institute", but legally unable to use that name because it is still under the Teacher College Act. Therefore, the Ministry of Education has proposed the Rajabhat Institute Act to the House of Representatives.
To replace the Teacher College Act which members of the House of Representatives have passed Rajabhat Institute Act on December 7, 2537 and the senators approved on December 16, 2537 His Majesty the King. His Majesty signed the King's signature on January 19, 1995 and published in the Government Gazette on January 24, 1995, making the Rajabhat Institute Act effective. Since January 25, 1995.
And on June 14, 2004, the Rajabhat University Act was announced in The Government Gazette, Volume 121, Special Part 23 Kor, and came into effect on June 15, 2004, causing Rajabhat Institutes across the country. Change the status of a university to a juristic person.
And have freedom and flexibility in management in various fields. Rajabhat University will be a source of knowledge and dependency on the locality as well as increase the country's educational competitiveness. It has a core mission to create educational opportunities. Create a quality and efficient higher education management system to create a body of knowledge to strengthen the local community.
