Sdok Kok Thom Castle It is a large and important ancient site of Sa Kaeo Province. Located at Ban Nong Samet, Khok Sung Sub-district, it is assumed that it was built in the 15th Buddhist century to enshrine idols and perform rituals according to the belief in Hinduism. The archaeological site consists of 3 castles facing east. Surrounded by a moat on 4 sides, there are 2 glass walls.
 
The outer layer is made of laterite. The inner layer is made of sandstone and the castle is built with sandstone. Only the east and west are left of the gopura or arch. Inside the crooked terrace, there are 2 sandstone birch houses in front of the central castle which is the main prang. The castle on the left and the main castle are in ruins.
 
According to the inscription said enshrined the lingu Outside the castle to the east is a large rectangular pond. There is a cobbled street from the castle to the pond along the way. Two main inscriptions have been found, inscribed with ancient Khmer characters as important evidence indicating the age of the construction of Prasat Sdok Kok Thom. as well as telling the purpose of creating the 2nd main inscription, implying to honor King Atityavarman II on the occasion of the successful restoration of Prasat Sdok Kok Thom in 1595 B.E.
 
The word Sdok Kok Thom means a city with reeds overgrown in a large swamp. which now still sees a large swamp in the past near the castle Currently, both inscriptions are kept at the National Library of the Fine Arts Department.
 
To get there, you can use the Aranyaprathet-Ta Phraya route. (Highway No. 348) about 25.5 kilometers to Highway No. 3381, turn right for about 8 kilometers, you will see Khok Sung Health Station on the right. Turn left into the junction for about 4 kilometers past Ban Nong Samet School. At the 12th kilometer, turn right and continue for 2.5 kilometers to Sdok Kok Thom.
