Aranyik Knife Handicraft Village History: Ban Ton Pho, Ban Phai Nong is a village where many people live. Located at Village No. 6 and 7, Tha Chang Subdistrict, Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province Both villages are famously known all over the world. Because it is one of the country's largest knife-producing sources that have been doing solidly for almost two hundred years.

Ethnic group Ton Pho villagers and Phai Nong villagers The settlers of Vientiane, Laos, had come to live in Thailand around the beginning of Rattanakosin. Most of the Vientiane people are technicians. There are goldsmiths and blacksmiths, that is, whoever is strong can forge steel. Whoever is weak has the resolution to hit gold. Clothing to decorate the body. Livelihood. In those days, both occupations had been steadily working together.

Later, in about 1822 B.E. The goldsmith career has ceased to decay. There is only one type of knives left. Villagers therefore took the profession of knifemaking as their main occupation. Did not engage in other occupations at all. Observations that are evidence that this group of Vientiane people are goldsmiths. If we take the soil from this community into the water, we will find gold scraps and gold filings everywhere.

Settlement background The reason why this group of Vientiane people came to live in Thailand will be forcibly forcibly brought in the reign of the Chao Phraya Mahakasat during the time of troops to attack Vientiane, or will it be the immigration itself? There is no clear evidence, but there is documented evidence that he entered with Mr. Tao as the leader. (Later in the reign of King Rama V was given the title of "Khun Nara Borirak") has traveled to find this landscape. It is suitable for occupation. It was originally a thick bamboo grove, with swamps and the Pa Sak River flowing through it.

In those days, there were no roads like today. Must rely on water as an important factor in transportation, especially Bamboo is a very important material for blacksmiths. Because bamboo is useful in itself for a long time, such as the use of charcoal to burn iron. Because bamboo charcoal produces a higher heat than other types of wood, the trunk is used to make houses, dwellings, make piles, hammer handles and knife handles. which a blacksmith must use regularly.

Therefore, it is seen that this landscape is a breadbasket, a source of abundant resources, and therefore unites to settle down. and had a meeting to discuss and naming their houses "Ban Phai Nong" to be suitable for the terrain before that For Ban Ton Pho An old man said When we arrived at this location, there was a big Bodhi tree in the middle of the village, so it was named. "Ban Ton Pho" When the time passed, the country prospered and the condition of the village changed. The densely growing bamboo grove was swept into a field. The swamp was completely shallow.

Community Honors In the reign of King Rama III, the land of King Nangklao Chao Yu Hua Around 1826 Prince Anuwong of Vientiane came to offer his cremation. His Majesty King Buddha Loetla Nabhalai has asked the people of Vientiane to return to the country But this group of Vientiane residents refused to go back under the umbrella of Phothisamphan. because He gave me peace and tranquility His people have always prospered in succession. The reputation for forging knives was spread throughout the world. Villagers therefore have a stable position. having a well-being With His Majesty's grace overflowing.
